Why are we doing a race on Thanksgiving Day?
Answer:  Why Not?  You are already up putting the turkey in the Oven, cleaning the house, and getting things ready for the day.  So stop by to run a 5 K (3.1 miles) to get your body ready.
Do I need to sign up? (yes, if you can –  but we take everyone)

How long is this race?
Answer: 5k, which is 3.1 Miles (thanks, Mary)
What is the race route?
Answer: It is a trail in the orchard and sidewalk run. (Staying off the main roads) – https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/3594637765.  We have a bridge, a Playground, an orchard, animals,  and more.
Is this an official race?
Answer:  No, it is a gathering of friends to have a good time running.  Nothing official here.
Will there be race bibs?
Answer:  No.. It’s a turkey trot. We also don’t have any chips (yet). I need to figure out how to do that.
Will there be any prizes?
Answer:  YES.  Just don’t know exactly what yet… (best costume)
What do we do afterward?
Answer:  Stop in to have Coffee, Tea, Hot cocoa, water, OTHER ADULT DRINKS, and Fun. Celebrate with friends.
Do I need to bring anything?
Only yourself, running gear, and a SMILE 🙂

What if I get lost?
Head back to where we started. Don’t worry the race marshal won’t yell at you! Call A friend!
What do I get if I win…?
Bragging rights for the year and a chance to win a race.
What should I wear?
Wear weather-appropriate gear.  We will deduct .002 from your time if you wear a tiara or a turkey outfit. (I believe this is a good way to reduce your time).  This year, we will deduct .02 from your time if you wear a feather in your cap 🙂  or a costume – Sweatbands can be a costume.
What About DOGS?
If they can run with you… have them come. Remember to have a leash.
What time is the Race?
Answer:  8:30-ish. (This is a rough estimate; last year, we did about 8:39? ish) – Please remind me to take a photo before the race.

Why did you change the route?
It is fun to introduce change every once in a while.  This year, we are looking to get a more accurate distance and a drier course.  1 Bridge, Bike path, Animals, Beautiful park, Orchard, Peach trees, water, and gravel road. 
Where did this idea come from?
I enjoy running and interacting with people. I did my first Turkey Trot in Baraboo, Wisconsin, and thought it was great. (Note: We got lost on that run.) This is an opportunity to gather and be healthy before gathering as a family for Thanksgiving.
What if I don’t like my time?
Run or walk faster 🙂 or enjoy the beautiful weather and the company
What if it is raining or snowing?
This is Michigan… (We run) If it rains (We run) if it snows (We run – then warm up with coffee or hot cocoa after)
Can I bring a friend?
Yep, we welcome all.  They can run or cheer everyone on.

A big thank you is due to Nate and Shari, who allowed us to use their wonderful orchard, and to my wife, who puts up with me and helped with the race.
